ixBrowser Mobile Proxy Setup Guide

What ixBrowser needs from a proxy

Each ixBrowser profile has a proxy configuration with a proxy type, host, port, and username and password. HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5 are supported. There is a test action that connects through the proxy and shows the exit IP with its country, region and timezone. When timezone and geolocation are set to follow the IP, the profile adopts those values on launch.

ixBrowser also allows saving proxies separately from profiles, so a proxy can be defined once and attached to a profile later. That is handy for keeping a tidy list of DoubleProx proxies named by metro and carrier.

From the DoubleProx side, your dashboard shows each proxy's host, HTTP port, SOCKS5 port, username, password and rotation link. Those are all the values ixBrowser can ask for.

Setting up a DoubleProx proxy in an ixBrowser profile

Open the profile and find the proxy section. Select the type. HTTP is the usual choice for browsing. SOCKS5 is the one to pick if the profile needs UDP or you want name resolution to happen on the proxy.

Enter the host, then the port for the chosen type. Paste the username and password. Run the proxy test. A working DoubleProx proxy returns a US carrier IP with a matching region and timezone. If the profile follows the IP for timezone and geolocation, those fields now reflect the proxy. Save the profile and launch it to confirm a page loads on the mobile IP.

If you prefer to manage proxies centrally, add the proxy to ixBrowser's saved proxy list first, then pick it from the list when creating each profile. The values are identical either way.

• Choose HTTP for typical profiles; SOCKS5 for UDP or proxy-side DNS.
• Match the port to the type; the dashboard lists both.
• Paste credentials to avoid stray characters.
• Test before saving and confirm the timezone matches the metro.

Sticky sessions and rotation in ixBrowser

DoubleProx proxies stay on one carrier IP until you rotate them, which is what you want while a profile is doing work. Sign in, browse, complete the task, sign out, all on the same address.

Between tasks, rotate. Open the rotation link from the dashboard or call it from a script and the proxy picks up a new IP at once, with no wait between changes. Because rotations are unlimited, you can adopt a simple habit: one rotation before each fresh session on a profile. The ixBrowser proxy fields never change; only the exit address does.

Per-request rotation is available for workloads where every connection should come from a different IP, such as a scripted availability check. It is not appropriate for logged-in browsing, so leave it off for standard profiles.

Scaling across profiles and cities

The rule is one proxy per profile. ixBrowser keeps profiles apart on the device side; sharing an exit IP between profiles that log into the same platform reconnects them on the network side. Since each DoubleProx proxy can rotate through as many IPs as you need over time, there is no reason to share.

Organise profiles by metro using ixBrowser groups or tags, and buy proxies to match. Our modems are in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, North Carolina and Boston, with Boston on 4G LTE only. A Houston group on Houston carrier IPs keeps the IP, the timezone and the profile's stated location aligned.

If you need a profile in a different city later, move the proxy yourself. Location moves are free and self-service from the DoubleProx dashboard. After the move, run the proxy test in ixBrowser so the profile picks up the new timezone.

Troubleshooting

Authentication errors on the test almost always come from a type and port mismatch or a copied credential with extra whitespace. Recopy from the dashboard and check that the port is the right one for the type.

A timezone mismatch after a successful test means the profile is using a manually set timezone. Switch to follow-IP mode and test again.

If a page reports your real IP, review WebRTC in the fingerprint settings and set it to use the proxy address or disable it. For DNS, SOCKS5 with remote resolution or the HTTP port both keep the lookup on the proxy side.

An unexpected IP change during a session points to the rotation link being called while the profile was open. Rotate only at the start or end of a task, and make sure no scheduled script calls the link for a proxy that is in use.
